2002 A.I.R.P.G.A.
Well the trip
to Tampa went
smoothly there was
not much traffic
on the highway
at 10:00 in
the morning when
we finally left
Fort Lauderdale.
We arrived promptly
at 2:00 p.m. Friday
afternoon.
Once arriving those
of us working
the Con went
to registration filled
out some general
paperwork and we
received our badges
for the weekend.
Considering this
was our first
event we had
not made previous
arrangements for discount
rates for A.I.R.P.G.A.
members and for
the Art Institute
of Fort Lauderdale
student body in
the future we
shall attempt to
received discount rates
for our members.
Upon beginning
our weekend there
were so many
events to follow
upon that it
was very difficult
to decide which
event to attend
and which one
to this.
Many events occurred
simultaneously and the
this did cause
some confusion amongst
the participants of
the convention.
The convention
consisted of two
at Japanese animation.
Rooms running Japanese
animation videos all
night and day
all weekend one-room
running sci-fi movies
and action movies
all weekend,
a collectible Card
Room, A
computer networking games
sectioned, collectible
cards, tabletop
gaming section,
miniatures gaming section,
and multiple L.A.R.P.S,
live action role-playing
games along with
assorted even such
as, auctions,
art shows,
masquerade contest,
parades the IGOR be
EGORE here tasting event
and many other
events. For
the collector there
were to dealer
rooms selling everything
from paintings to
antique weapons to
go off clothing
to books and
even animation videos
and incense burners
and assortments of
Jewelry.
Friday night we
had there was
a large number
of L.A.R.P. games the A.I.R.P.G.A
. did not host
of those games
though we did
play a couple
of the Dungeons
in Dragons third
Edition games as
well as one
member team promoted
a home brewed
game he's created.
Around 8:00
Friday night six
of us approached
the L.A.R.P. headquarters
a few of
our members needed
to create an
or recreate Characters
for the game
by a 8:30 OR 9:00.m.
we were out
Larping.
There were
quite a few
strange occurrences going
on throughout the
setting but we
manage to deal
with it pretty
well one person
did get put
to Torker mode
and another took
quite a bit
and aggravated Damage
but survived barely.
Torker is a
status which in
other words means
he is so
dead but with
a little work
from his teammates
he was eventually
revive and had
quite a few
of his stats all
low improved now
he is the
property of a
powerful ranking vampire.
The game
went on through
most of the
night the Tremere
stayed close to their chantey
for the majority
in the evening.
Truly the only
safe place for
the powerful and
feared Tremere from and
who would attempt to steal the great power of a
Tremere, though we
did wander around
and hotel area though
no vampires dared
attack a group
of Tremere.
Some members
of our team
spent a good
majority of the
weekend watching several
of the many
animation videos there
were hosted throughout
the animate rooms. I even spent
time in the
video room watching
several of the
many sci-fi movies
that were presented
through the weekend.
I watched based
Odyssey 2010 followed
by space cowboy
race.
the lineup was
pretty interesting they
had movies from
the above mentioned
to fight club
star wars to
dungeons and dragons,
Army of darkness,
and literally dozens
of other movies
running around the
clock.
The movie listing
would be too
much to list
here.
Saturday afternoon
was pretty good
and as yours
truly managed to
join into a
second edition Dungeon
Dragons game where
we survive for
at an evil
vampires and a
haunted crypt still
there were a few
times that the
party faired war
they. One
of our members
was also able
to joining into
a dungeons and
dragons third edition
campaign, which was rather
interesting as well.
Today several other
members of the
A.I.R.P.G.A. managed to
participate in numerous
other tabletop games
as well as
a couple of
computer network games
the CON was
running. One
network game offered
was aliens another
was an unreal
tournament end of
course there was
a star Trek
tournament on the
computer networks.
All of the
games were pretty
interesting it was
suggested that possibly
next year the
A.I.R.P.G.A. will host
a Baldur’s Gate or Ice
when the Dale
campaign.
If the a
anticipated release of
Never winter nights
is prior to
next year's convention
the A.I.R.P.G.A. will
definitely be a
running Never winter nights
campaign for all
participants of the
Con interested in
joining me in
the network gaming
room.
Approximately
6:00 p.m. A member who was running a new L.A.R.P approached me. This
Larp was based on
a table top
game known as
love craft it
had to do
with many unusual
events occurring at
a mansion and
demons sightings had
been seen on
about the mansion's
property.
The director of
the LARP and approached
me ask if
I would be
willing to play
and NPC for
the game? I
agreed to, and
from that point
on I became
known as Dick
Dickerson a private detective
sent here to
investigate the strange
occurrences at this
manor. It
took team B approximately
an hour an a
half to locate
me. Once they convinced
me their meanings
were well I
supplied team B with
a clue but
the clue also
incorporated a curse,
forcing one of
their members to
permanently change sides
for the rest
of the game.
Later in the
evening I was
approached by a
team A at this
time I'd also
been assigned a
second NPC position
of that of
a Dark priest.
Once team A located
Dickerson they persuaded
me to release
a clue that
was to help
them solve the
mysteries occurring but
unfortunately the team
never realized I
was also the
Dark Priest so
there were unable
to receive their
second clue in
New. Approximately
8:00 p.m. I was
also running as
a PC in
the vampire LARP again
my Tremere clan spent
most of the
evening in their
chantey house although
I had to
wage war with
evil forces running
a table top
game from 8:00
p.m. through 1:30 a.m.
the A.I.R.P.G.A. game
was running a
second edition dungeons
and dragons game.
The game have
much mystery and
intrigue and it
seemed to keep
the players very
interested to learn
more of the
story behind our
second mission campaign
please review the
portal.
For 6 or so
hrs I was
running a game
in the RPG room
But no vamp
dared approach this
loan Tremere.
The other clans
most feared the
wrath of a
great and powerful
Tremere. All
so it seems
no groups from
the other LARP managed
to locate the
Evil Priest for
their clue by
approximately 1:30 a.m.
I cleaned up
from the game
two return to
the Chantree
for the Tremere
the rest of the
evening went uneventful.
Sunday morning
arose early approximately
9:00 a.m. the day
began years truly
participated in a
third edition campaign
and other guests
of the A.I.R.P.G.A.
ran a second
edition campaign though
I presently do
not have the
details of that
campaign it was
a rather high
level campaign with
Physonic Abilities and
all sorts of
powerful creatures once
the third edition
campaign came to
an end the
A.I.R.P.G.A.
Took another two
were of the
CON though most
events seemed to
be wrapping up.
We went
around to see what
was going on
for the last
day of the
convention.
It seems there
was a few
other events:
on such as
a charity auctions
and a luncheon
and a few
more general get
together is regarding
the convention but
by Sunday afternoon
things started to
wind down.
Approximately 6:00
p.m. the convention
did have a
drawing for the
years greatest DM
as well as
the top three
players at the
convention this drawing
required all registrants
to be present
for the drawing
and upon the
drawing for the
year's best DM
who was present
they followed it
with the number
one gamer of
the weekend he
was present the
next three people
were not present
the second place
winner was another
general gamer when
the drawing came
around to the
weekend's third best
role player that
winner just happen to
be James Eischen
Jr. the son of
yours truly he
hit third place
and received several
pretty interesting items
such as collectible
cards books and
games.
The only
events left for
the weekend would
have been a
dinner buffet from
6:00pm to
9:00pm followed by
the dead dog
party from 9:00
p.m. until midnight
though we did
have a long
drive back to Fort
Lauderdale so the A.I.R.P.G.A.
group decided to
return home and
skip the last
two events.
All in
all the weekend was
a very interesting
one and the
first official convention
that the A.I.R.P.G.A.
has been a
part of stay
tuned to
these WebPages for
the many more
conventions coming up
are and ConQuest
which are the next
two conventions both
being hosted in
the try county
area of south
Florida. The A.I.R.P.G.A.
shall be participating
organization the see as
many as possible
thank-you and good
adventuring and gaming to you all.
